A self-made man who worked himself through schools. He was a waiter at the Aristocrat Restaurant along Roxas Boulevard before joining the Western Police District (“Manila’s Finest”) while pursuing Bachelor of Laws at the University of the Philippines. After graduating in 1970, he joined a maritime and admiralty law firm solely representing P & I Clubs in the Philippines at that time. Together with other promising young lawyers in that firm, Atty. Pete eventually ventured on establishing his own firm, and steadily built his impeccable reputation as a prominent international maritime and admiralty lawyer in representing top marine insurance companies in the Philippines. His sharp negotiating skills gained Atty. Pete’s reputation for settling cases. He handles complex high conflict cases with uncanny talent and ease. On 15th July 1985, Atty. Pete found Linsangan Law Office and worked his way to the top in representing plaintiffs in cargo claims; and seafarers and their families in crew claims. After Atty. Gerry and Atty. Glen joined the firm in 1993 and 1997, respectively, they launched Linsangan Linsangan & Linsangan Law Offices as it is known today. On 18th January 2003, Atty. Pete formally inaugurated the Linsangan Admiralty Building as a testimony to his continued success in his law practice. Aside from providing free legal assistance at the office for walk-in and calling claimants, Atty. Pete embarked on radio broadcasting in 1997 to help more Filipinos in need of legal advice and assistance through the program entitled “Punto Por Punto” hosted by Mr. Jun Obrero of DWBL (1242 Khz). In 2005, Atty. Pete launched another one-hour radio program with the same goal but this time captioned “Sagot Ka Ni Atty. Pete Linsangan” aired every Saturday, 10:00 AM over DZAR Manila (1026 Khz). Our Atty. Gerry and other associate lawyers take turns in co-hosting the said radio program. If you are in Panay Island (Aklan, Antique, Cadiz and Iloilo) on a Sunday between 12:30 Noon and 1:30 PM, you might just chance upon the radio program entitled “Tribuna Sang Banwa” hosted by Tigbauan, Iloilo SB Member, Mr. Neri Tano Camiña, Ms. Nermie Barcelona and renowned Panay News Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Herbert L. Vego on DYOK Iloilo (720 Khz) with the same theme of FREE LEGAL ADVICE for seafarers and their heirs. On 5th July 2015, Atty. Pete and Atty. Gerry started broadcasting over DYHP Cebu (612 Khz) in the radio program captioned “Sumbunganan”, which is anchored by Mr. Buen Algono every Sunday from 8:00 to 9:00 AM. This program is avidly listened to in the whole of Cebu City, Cebu Province, Mandaue City, Lapu-Lapu City, and some parts of Northeastern and Southwestern parts of Cebu, even as far as Bohol, Negros Oriental (including in Dumaguete City), Negros Occidental, Siquijor, Leyte, Masbate, Romblon, Northern Mindanao Provinces. Atty. Pete’s goal is to educate as many listeners and viewers as possible to the end that no callous employer, person or entity may take undue advantage of their misfortune and measly knowledge of their legal rights. Unlike regular radio programs, ours do not have sponsors and all expenses are entirely shouldered by Linlaw so that those who have less in life may have more in law.
